“57% of Tata Click luxury shopping comes from Tier 2,” said Tata Cliq and Tata Cliq Luxury’s chief business development officer Almona Bhatia at the India Direct to Customer Summit 2024 in Mumbai, India Retailing reported. “Handbags are the fastest growing category on Tata Cliq Luxury… Watches are exploding. Customers from Tier 2 are buying Rado, Tissot and Cartier watches priced upwards of Rs 1 lakh without even trying them on hand.”

Demand on Tata Cliq for luxury goods includes both new and pre-loved items. The business launched The ReLoved Store in January this year to retail a range of second hand luxury goods and its first partner was Jay’s Watch Store.
“We launched pre-owned watches and handbags and were pleasantly surprised at the response we received,” said Bhatia. “Customers are buying Rs 25 lakh pre-owned watches online without touching and feeling them, of course, they are certified.”

Tata Cliq expects to see India’s market for pre-owned luxury goods expand at a rapid pace. Key categories include sneakers, watches, jewellery, fashion, art, and antique furniture and the category not only enables consumers to purchase luxury goods for slightly more affordable prices, it is also a way of reducing waste.
