British fashion and lifestyle retailer Marks & Spencer has opened its first store to date in the city of Siliguri inside Vega Circle Mall. The new opening brings the brand’s store total in the state of West Bengal to four.
“Indulge in a world of elegance and fashion at the brand-new M&S store in Vega Circle Mall, Siliguri,” announced the mall on Facebook. “Unleash your style with us!”
The store opened its doors to the public with a traditional lamp lighting and ribbon cutting ceremony attended by a number of company executives. A line of shoppers queued to have first access to the outlet as a red carpet was rolled out for the occasion.
The new M&S store has a glass façade which showcases mannequins in the brand’s latest clothing designs for the winter season. In-store, shoppers can browse men’s women’s, and children’s casual and formal wear with segments for knitwear and denim among others and a range of fashion accessories.
Marks & Spencer first entered the Indian market in 2001 as part of a joint venture with Reliance Retail. The brand now operates around 107 stores in 33 Indian cities, India Retailing reported. Marks & Spencer’s three other West Bengal stores are all located in Kolkata.
