Hoorne, a Thai star with both big movies and TV shows on her resume, confirmed the appointment at the luxury house via her personal Instagram account: “I’m truly honored and grateful for the opportunity to serve as a brand ambassador for Gucci and Gucci Beauty. I’ll give my very best in this role. Thank you.loveeeee [sic]”

The Italian brand’s appointment of Hoorne, who boasts some 17 million followers on Instagram alone, serves as its very-first Thai ambassador at Gucci, and follows the recruiting of the brand’s first-ever Indian ambassador, Alia Bhatt, last summer.

Earlier this month, Gucci appointed South Korean actress Gyuyoung Park as its latest global brand ambassador, confirming the luxury brand’s penchant for recruiting ambassadors from Korea and other neighbouring Asian markets.

Park and Hoorne join fellow Gucci ambassadors from Asia — Chinese actress Ni Ni, and actor and singer Xiao Zhan — as well as other Gucci faces Kendall Jenner, Bad Bunny, Julia Garner, A$AP Rocky, and Elliott Page.
