Tata Group’s value fashion brand Zudio could open between 150 and 200 new brick-and-mortar stores by the end of the 2025 financial year. The family fashion brand aims to tap into Indian demand for affordable apparel.
“Zudio plans to add anywhere between 150 to 200 stores in the 2024-25 fiscal year,” an anonymous source close to the development told India Retailing. Although many retailers across India are experiencing a slowdown in sales, Zudio has benefitted from shoppers becoming more budget conscious as its offering centres around affordability, while also following fashion trends.
Tata Group’s retail business Trent Limited has expanded swiftly and opened over 100 exclusive brand outlets for Zudio in the 2024 financial year so far, said the source. In the remaining months of the current fiscal, Zudio is set to continue to open stores in new locations.
Tata Group launched Zudio seven years ago to cater to young Indians looking for value fashion. The brand retails casual wear, party wear, and lounge wear for men, women, and children and also stocks accessories and lifestyle goods, all priced below Rs 1,000.
Trent Limited also runs the Westside department store chain. The business is also in a joint venture with Spain-based apparel giant Inditex SA to retail Massimo Dutti and Zara products in India.
