Sai Silks Kalamandir opens Kancheepuram Varamahalakshmi Silks store in Chennai

Ethnic apparel retail business Sai Silks Kalamandir has launched its 57th Kancheepuram Varamahalakshmi Silks format store to date. Located in Chennai’s Poonamalle district, the store bolsters the business’ brick-and-mortar presence in Tamil Nadu.

“We are delighted to open [our] seventh store in Tamil Nadu and fourth store in Chennai,” said Sai Silks Kalamandir Limited’s CMD Prasad Chalavadi in a press release. “This shows our commitment to Chennai and rest of Tamil Nadu for delivering much needed growth by expanding our presence in ever growing ethnic wear market in Tamil Nadu.”
 
The store was inaugurated by actress Khushboo Sundar who cut the ribbon wearing a vibrant blue and purple saree. The new outlet retails a wide range of premium ethnic sarees and handloom weaves designed for wedding and occasion wear. Banarasi, Patola, Kota, Paithani, Organza, Kuppadam, and Kancheepuram silk sarees all feature in the new store along with a selection of men’s and children’s occasion wear. 

“In order to support our growth strategy, we intend to further penetrate in Chennai like we did in Telangana and we will build large warehousing facility as we open more number [sic] of stores to support our growth in Chennai and rest of Tamil Nadu,” said Chalavadi. “No best time to open stores than today as the festivals time is around and the spending on ethnic wear is very high during Diwali, Christmas to Sankranti in Tamil Nadu.”
