Reliance Industries Limited’s Reliance Retail is focusing on the value fashion segment as consumer demand continues to surge. The business plans to open between 200 and 250 stores for a new retail concept currently called ‘Yousta’ over the coming years and will open its first store for the concept this August.
The first Yousta store is scheduled to launch in Hyderabad, sources close to the development told India Retailing. The business also plans to open one of the first Yousta stores in New Delhi and is currently on the hunt for a sizeable space within a Delhi NCR mall.
Consumer demand for branded value fashion is swiftly increasing in India, especially in non-metro locations. The trend is showing no signs of slowing down and many large scale retailers are focusing on expanding their value fashion offerings to harness this consumer sentiment for growth. The fact that the value fashion market is currently largely unorganised means there exists a significant opportunity for large businesses looking to organise it.
Reliance Retail launched in 2006. The business runs a host of brands in the fashion and lifestyle segments including Cover Story, Avantra by Trends, Azorte, Reliance, Jewels, Centro, Ajio, and Reliance Smart among others, according to Reliance Retail’s website.
