Men’s suiting brand Reid & Taylor has opened a new store in Mumbai’s Borivali neighbourhood to bring its formal wear to the city’s shoppers. The brand also plans to open a total of seven more outlets in the metro in the coming month.
“Finally, the first store inaugurated today in Borivali, Mumbai,” announced Krihaan Tex Chem Private Limited’s CEO of apparel and retail Subrata Siddhanta on Linkedin. “From mind to floor in six months. The Scottish men’s fashion on Indian soil. Reid & Taylor men’s fashion, in formal, casual and timeless fashion… Seven stores coming up in Mumbai in a month’s time. I am blessed with my wonderful team. Invite you all to experience it firsthand.”
Krihaan Tex Chem Private Limited owns the Reid & Taylor brand and specialises in garment and textile manufacturing. Siddhanta joined the business as CEO in September 2023, the business announced on Linkedin at the time. Reid & Taylor’s new Mumbai store retails a selection of men’s formal wear and suits as well as casual wear.
Originally launched by Scottish entrepreneur Alexander Reid in the 1830s, the label was financed by Joseph Taylor to create the Reid & Taylor name. The brand made its debut in the Indian market in 1998 when it opened a mill in Mysore in Karnataka. The brand’s India business is based in Mumbai, according to its Facebook page.
