Italian eyewear manufacturer Marcolin and American sneaker brand Skechers have renewed the licensing agreement for the design, production and worldwide distribution of Skechers sunglasses, optical eyewear and children’s eyewear, until December 2030.
Marcolin and Skechers first formed a licensing agreement in 2014.
Skechers eyewear, which achieved record sales of $8 billion (€7.44 billion) in 2023, an increase of 7.5%, benefits from a vast distribution network. They are sold online as well as through approved opticians, in a selection of Skechers shops, which have 5,000 Skechers outlets worldwide, and in department stores.
For Marcolin, the announcement of this licence renewal comes at a time when the group is preparing for a merger or sale. The company recently renewed a series of key licensing agreements, including those with Tom Ford and Max&Co.
