Fine jewellery brand Kalyan Jewellers will open an exclusive brand outlet in Ayodhya to bolster its brick-and-mortar presence in Uttar Pradesh. The brand plans to open 30 new stores this financial quarter across India and the Middle East.
“The ongoing quarter should witness the launch of the company’s 250th showroom in Ayodhya, a milestone in our journey,” said Kalyan Jewellers in a statement, the Press Trust of India reported. The brand detailed its store expansion plans in a regulatory filing and stated that, as of December 31, 2023, the brand had a total of 235 stores globally.
The Ayodhya store will retail Kalyan Jewellers’ range of gold, diamond, and precious gemstone jewellery for weddings, occasion wear, and everyday wear. The launch comes at a time when Ayodhya has undergone significant development to increase its allure as a tourist destination and its Ram Temple will be inaugurated on January 22, India Retailing reported.
Kalyan Jewellers plans to open 15 Kalyan showrooms in India this quarter as well as two in the Middle East. The business also plans to open 13 stores for its brand ‘Candere’. The brand plans to convert a range of its recently opened company-owned stores to franchise owned franchise operated outlets and aims to harness the franchise model to open 80 stores in the 2025 financial year.
“We continue to be encouraged by the underlying momentum in footfalls across all our major markets and are gearing up with fresh collections and campaigns for the upcoming wedding season across the country,” said Kalyan Jewellers.
