Clothing and lifestyle brand Jodi has opened its first exclusive brand outlet in Mumbai. Located in the metro’s Kala Ghoda neighbourhood, the conceptual space houses the label’s brightly coloured clothing and accessories.
“We started in Pune because we’ve got family there,” said Jodi’s founders Gauri Verma and Karuna Laungani, Beautiful Homes reported on Facebook. “It is quiet and gave us space to build a brand there. When it came to opening a store, south Bombay felt right. It has the culture and art around, and also has become a great hub with designers and galleries opening up here.”
Jodi also retails its products online from its direct to customer e-commerce store and from its open studio in Pune’s Wanowrie neighbourhood where the brand works from and also retails from with a small showroom. The label recently revamped its space in Pune to make it even more colourful and engaging and celebrated with a house party, the brand announced on Facebook.
Jodi describes itself as “Indian high street with a heart,” according to its Facebook page. The label was launched by Gauri Verma and Karuna Laungani with the aim of bringing together their interests in craft, culture, fashion, and travel, according to the brand’s website.
