The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts launched its 17th edition of the Indian Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Show on June 26. The business-to-business event expects to welcome buyers from around 60 countries to browse products from over 150 Indian manufacturers.
The trade show launched at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida and is open to overseas buyers, buying and sourcing professionals, and domestic volume retail buyers, the EPCH announced in a press release. Featured product categories include fashion jewellery, textile accessories, handbags, footwear, leather goods, semi-precious jewellery, and handicrafts from a wide range of Indian regions.
“This show is a step in the direction of our goal to achieve a threefold growth in handicraft exports by 2030,” said EPCH chairman Dileep Baid in a press release. “In order to give wide publicity, the council has undertaken extensive digital promotion and publicity campaign all across the globe through advertisements and articles in international magazines, their digital publications, online portals, web banners etc. Further, Indian Embassies extended invitation[s] to buyers and importers in their respective countries. The fair has been extensively publicised on social media as well. Among pre-registered buyers we note most of our patrons as well as several first time buyers.”
The trade show includes a number of design and trend forecast themed pavilions to enable buyers to note upcoming trends. The India International Garment Fair runs concurrently to IFJAS at the same venue to enable buyers from overseas to visit both events.
“Besides display by leading manufacturers from across India, Theme Pavilions depicting fashion jewellery and accessories from pan India artisans will be among attractions for the visiting overseas buying community,” said previous EPCH chairman Raj Kumar Malhotra. “Established as a premium trading platform for sourcing fashion jewellery and accessories from India’s diverse and key suppliers, IFJAS stands prominent among sourcing shows.”
