GJEPC tours Brazil, Columbia, Panama to deepen Latin American trade ties

The Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council has sent a delegation to tour numerous cities in Brazil, Columbia, and Panama to meet with local names in industry. The initiative is designed to facilitate networking to forge deeper trade ties with the region.

From May 21 to 29, the GJEPC is conducting a Latin America tour to explore export opportunities in the Latin American and Caribbean region, the GJEPC announced on its website. In Brazil, the GJEPC has stops in the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro along with Bogotá in Columbia and Panama City in Panama.
 
The GJEPC delegation is led by vice chairman Kirit Bhansali and is tasked with assessing market needs and requirements in the area as well as networking with industry associations and jewellery businesses to find business opportunities. The delegation is also researching the import and export policies of the nations. The GJEPC is currently promoting its India International Jewellery Show, a trade show focused on international buyers, and its buyer-seller meets and has held interactive meetings at the Indian Embassy in Brazil with businesses including H Stern, Monte Cristo, Vivara, VQ Jewellery, and Villar Joias.
 
The GJEPC works to increase Indian fine jewellery exports by forging links with other nations, holding trade shows, and by advocating for the industry in terms of government policy. The GJEPC has welcomed the free trade agreements recently signed with the UAE among other territories and is keen to pursue more international agreements to boost Indian jewellery in the global market.
