Womenswear brand Eka will hold a showcase event to launch its spring/ summer 2024 collection ‘Kohima’ on March 9 at its flagship store in New Delhi. The event will unveil and celebrate its nostalgic designs as well as its new campaign shot in Nagaland.
“We are delighted to announce that Eka is presenting the spring/ summer 24 collection, a travelogue from the heart of Kohima,” announced the brand in a press release. The collection focuses on Eka’s signature loose silhouettes and delicate pastel hues which are contracted by the rich coloured landscape of its Nagaland-based campaign. Floaty smock dresses are paired with frilly hair accessories and semi-sheer textiles reveal delicate layers underneath.
“We took our inspiration from the famous Studio Ghibli aesthetic,” said Eka’s creative director Rina Singh in a press release. “The brand consistently drops pin location in different parts of the country to uncover a new language. Moira, Ladakh, Lucknow, or Kohima, we are always finding a new place to express ourselves from.”
Designer Rina Singh hails from North India and launched Eka after studying fashion in the UK. Singh works with her husband Sandeep Dua, who works as Eka’s managing director, and was a runner up for the Woolmark International Prize in 2016.
