Design One to hold Rakhi fashion fair in Mumbai this August

Design One will showcase premium fashion brands from across India at its upcoming business to customer fair in Mumbai. The exhibition will run from August 17 to 18 at the National Sports Club of India Dome in Worli.

For its August event, Design One will present a ‘Rakhi Edit’ to feature a wide array of festive wear and accessories for the upcoming Rakhi festival, as well as the autumn festive season, the event organisers announced on Facebook. The fashion fair is designed to uplift desi labels and celebrate both the designers and the artisans behind them while raising funds for charity, according to Design One. 
 
“Excited to announce our participation in the latest edition of Design One, a fundraising initiative by the Sahachari Foundation,” announced participating brand Ekaya on Facebook. Ekaya specialises in handloom Banarasi textiles, sarees, and womenswear and the luxury label’s summer capsule collection Iro features bold, monochromatic sarees in hues of magenta and azure.

Other participating brands will be announced in the run up to the event. Labels which have participated in previous editions of Design One include Mohar, Shree Jee, Jade, Pause, and Bodhi Tree among others.  
 
The event is part of the annual fundraising activities of the Sahachari Foundation and its first edition took place in 2009. The organisation has also held events in New Delhi and mainly caters to affluent women from metro areas.
