Personal care brand Clensta has reported a 100% year-on-year increase in net revenue in the first quarter of the 2024 financial year with a gross merchandise value of Rs 47.75 crore compared to Rs 25.86 crore in the first quarter of the 2023 financial year. The business has achieved this thanks to increased sales and reduced costs.
“Our 100% revenue growth validates the hard work and effort we’ve put in to build a responsible and sustainable brand on a strong and table foundation,” said Clensta’s founder Puneet Gupta, India Retailing reported. “Our aggressive marketing strategy has finally paid off as Clensta is now on the radar of a larger and more diverse customer base. We look forward to continuing this upward graph as we expand and grow the business this year both in India and globally.”
Clensta’s net revenue in the first quarter was also 41% higher than the preceding quarter (the last quarter of the 2023 financial year). The business had brought down losses in its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation by 80% in the first quarter of the 2024 financial year compared to the previous quarter. Clensta had also reduced its logistics costs and increased its return on advertising spend.
Clensta is backed by actress-turned-entrepreneur Parineeti Chopra and specialises in skincare and haircare to target specific beauty concerns. The brand has also launched a line of fragrances, it announced on Facebook. Puneet Gupta launched Clensta International Private Limited in 2016 and the brand retails on multi-brand e-commerce platforms as well as offline through over 5,000 retail touch points.
