Bajaj Consumer Care recorded an 18 percent rise in net profit to Rs 37 crore ($4.5 million) for the second quarter, as against Rs 32 crore reported in the year-ago period.

The company’s revenue grew by one percent to Rs 235 crore, as against Rs 232 crore during the second quarter of the previous fiscal year.

“The general trade topline declined by low single digit in the quarter wherein urban continued to do well and registered a mid-single digit growth in H1FY24. Rural demand remained subdued due to inflation and below average rainfall in certain regions,” Bajaj said in its investor presentation.

Further, international business recorded a growth of 21 percent year-on-year in H1. Middle East and Africa grew by double digit on-year while Bangladesh continued scaling up with healthy topline growth.

The company said that its 100 percent pure coconut oil is scaling up well with consistent repeat offtakes across all channels.

During the quarter, the company strengthened its portfolio with launch of new products like nourishing body lotion, anti-hair fall shampoo, and conditioner.
