Speaking with The Indian Express in the past, Thalapathy Vijay revealed that before their marriage, Sangeetha used to make grand romantic gestures for him. However, after their wedding, such gestures became less frequent due to his lack of reaction. The actor said, “But even now, she has gifted me cars and such things… She’s very understanding, and that’s very important. If a film flops, she supports me and tells me not to feel bad.”
2. Vijay says Sangeetha plays the ‘biggest’ role in his life
In another old interview, Vijay was asked why he chose to marry Sangeetha. He responded, “She is very understanding, that’s the main reason. She gives honest opinions after each of my films’ release. Her feedback is often on point and plays the biggest role in my life.”
3. Vijay recalls describing Sangeetha as a ‘nice’ girl to his father
In a throwback interview, the Leo actor recalled their early days and said, “I invited her to my house, and my father liked her. When he said he wanted to talk to me, I got anxious. But he asked about Sangeetha, and I said she’s a nice girl. ‘Why are you asking?’ Then he asked if I wanted to get married. I was taken by surprise and asked for some time. Later, our families met, and we got engaged.”
4. Meeting Sangeetha for the first time
While Vijay has largely kept his personal life private, he once revealed that Sangeetha was initially a fan of his. The two first met on the sets of Love Today (1997).
