Wearables and tech accessories brand Boat now counts quick commerce as its third largest sales channel. The sector’s swiftly increasing popularity represents a significant growth opportunity, according to the business, and is shaping the Indian retail landscape.

“There are brands that are doing much better on quick commerce than on Amazon, Flipkart, or any other traditional e-commerce channels,” said Boat’s co-founder Aman Gupta, ET Tech reported. “I think it’s a good time for quick commerce… People like us were born on marketplaces. Now, there are brands being built on quick commerce.”

Keen to take full advantage of quick commerce, Boat partnered with Blinkit in 2022 to boost its delivery across select Indian metros, CXO Voice reported. The business has continued to expand its quick commerce area coverage and product selection. Last year, the business was also onboarded onto the government’s open network for digital commerce as it continues to take part in new industry developments.

“Direct to customer brands have just started emerging in India, presenting a significant growth opportunity for everyone,” said Gupta. Sectors where direct to customer brands are booming include beauty, personal care, and fashion and, as increasing numbers of Indians incorporate electronic technology into their everyday life, swift online deliveries of such products become a necessity for more and more consumers in the country.
