The World Economic Forum has named Nykaa co-founder and Nykaa Fashion CEO Adwaita Nayar as a ‘2024 Young Global Leader’. Nayar was chosen to join a group of 90 individuals from across the world for her work as a change-maker and entrepreneur.
“Being inducted as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum is truly an honour and a privilege,” said Adwaita Nayar in a press release. “What is particularly exciting is to be able to learn from diverse delegates – learn about inclusive and sustainable practices in various countries and industries – and bring those ideas to India.”
The World Economic Forum for young leaders completed two decades this year and it has recognised a wide range of business leaders as well as current prime ministers and billionaires in its time. The World Economic Forum’s Forum of Young Global Leaders aims to celebrate change-makers under 40 years old and help to devise solutions to the world’s problems.
Adwaita Nayar has worked for her mother Falguni Nayar’s beauty business Nykaa from its inception and took over its fashion arm Nykaa Fashion in 2018. Under the leadership of Adwaita Nayar, Nykaa Fashion has grown significantly and reported a gross merchandise value of Rs 1,013 crore for the third quarter of the 2024 financial year, according to the business.
