As Riyaz Gangji’s runway show opened in Mumbai, models walked out in glittering hues of white, gold, and caramel. Taking classic traditional wear garments including lehengas, sarees, and sherwanis, Gangji streamlined silhouettes and added subtle details for an aesthetic which paid homage to traditional aesthetics but screamed ‘modern wedding’.

The showcase was conceptualised as a celebration of renewal and peace following challenging times, Times Fashion Week announced on Facebook. Notable looks included monochrome lehengas, sarees with floral beadwork, and tailored men’s suits.

Bombay Times Fashion Week ran from October 27 to 29 in Mumbai as an initiative of the Times Group, powered by Streax Professional. The fashion week saw participation from a range of designers including Archana Kochhar, Chheda Jewellers, Kaftanize, Aari, and Navyasa among others.

Riyaz Gangji Libas is based in Mumbai and retails from its exclusive brand outlets in cities including Mumbai, New Delhi, and Pune as well as in Dubai and from its direct to customer e-commerce store, according to its website. The brand’s Mumbai production facility has a capacity of between 35,000 and 40,000 pieces.
