Meesho expects to record threefold order growth this festive season

Multi-brand value fashion and lifestyle marketplace Meesho expects to record threefold order growth during this year’s festive season. The e-commerce business plans to use its brand store ‘Meesho Mall’ to onboard customers.

“We believe that Malls will be a significant lever for monetisation in the future,” said Meesho’s chief financial officer Dhiresh Bansal, India Retailing reported. “We are also expecting three times order growth during the festive season. Staying true to its vision, Meesho Mall aims to double down on accessibility, affordability, selection, and experience for its diverse stakeholders… Meesho Mall will be an enabler for several emerging and established brands looking to tap a larger audience across the country.”
 
Last year’s festive season five-day sale saw Meesho report 68% sales growth compared to the year before. The business shipped approximately 3.34 crore orders during the sale. 

Meesho launched Meesho Mall last year and the in-app brand store enables shoppers to purchase products directly from brands and authorised channel partners. The format is designed to enable brands to sell their goods directly to consumers and enable shoppers to browse a wide array of products.
 
Meesho Mall has experienced swift growth of approximately 30% month-on-month since its launch, India Retailing reported. The business has already processed over 1 crore orders through the format in the past six months, according to Bansal.
