Victorinox opens shop-in-shop in Ahmedabad, plans large-scale India expansion in 2023

Swiss travel goods and accessories brand Victorinox has opened a new shop-in-shop in Ahmedabad on the central C G Road to retail its travel goods and bags. The brand plans to carry out a large-scale expansion plan this year and open both multi-product and single-product stores. 

The new Victorinox shop-in-shop in Ahmedabad opened as a single-product category store and retails luggage, work bags, backpacks, and other bags, the brand announced in a press release on July 7. As well as Victorinox, the store also retails its sister brand Wenger, which has a lower price point.
 
“With the Victorinox Shop-in-shop concept we are bringing an extremely popular, premium brand into the heart of Ahmedabad,” said Victorinox India’s managing director Colonel Chandhoke in a press release. “We are excited and look forward to offering our customers a unique Swiss experience from Victorinox at this prime location. We currently have 14 stores that house Victorinox shop-in-shops presently with three or more product categories, and five stores with a single product category, such as this one.”

Following the launch, Victorinox plans to open 10 more stores in the multi-product category and five more in the single-product category by the end of the calendar year, according to Chandhoke. The expansion will help the brand further penetrate the Indian market and reach shoppers in new locations. 
 
Victorinox opened its flagship India store in Mumbai’s Palladium Mall in May, 2022 and the brand’s shop-in-shops are located in a mix of malls, high-streets, and airports. The brand is headquartered in Ibach, Switzerland and is known for its signature ‘Original Swiss Army Knife’.
