Handicraft accessories and lifestyle brand Zouk has opened its first ever brick-and-mortar store in Mumbai. The new store marks the beginning of the brand’s omni-channel expansion journey.
“Breaking news, we are thrilled to announce the grand opening of Zouk’s first ever flagship store,” announced Zouk on Facebook. The launch event included a visit from members of non-profit organisation Teach For India and Zouk’s founders took part in a ribbon cutting ceremony to inaugurate the store.
“As a brand, we have a good amount of data around where our customer base is, what are the right locations for us to choose, what is the right format and what sort of collections to take to the store, etc, and based on all of these, we felt that now is the right time to go offline,” Zouk’s COO Pradeep Krishnakumar told ET Retail.
The store houses Zouk’s full selection of handbags and footwear with shelves lining each portion of wall for an eclectic feel. Zouk’s signature deep aqua hue is used both on the store’s façade and as accents within and gold metal work adds a modern-meets-traditional look to the space.
“With the launch of our first store, we seek to foster a sense of community and transform the store into a hub of engaging experiences,” said Krishnakumar. “For this, the store will host various interesting activities, ensuring a dynamic and interactive environment for visitors every week for a month.”
