Valliyan is now open at Kala Ghoda in Mumbai, the brand announced on Instagram. The label had previously opened a multi-brand store in Mumbai in 2013 and has now returned to the same neighbourhood with a single brand concept.

“You can call it the rebirth of the brand,” Valliyan’s founder and creative director Nitya Arora told Vogue India about the launch. “The new space is infused with tropical elements inspired by island living and the bustling energy of your typical urban chaos, which is reflective of nature and the brand’s retro-futuristic flair.”

Valliyan recently debuted its latest jewellery collection ‘Valliyan 5.0’ with a theatrical presentation at Lakmé Fashion Week x Fashion Design Council of India in Mumbai. Models wore stacks of colourful trinkets with rings inspired by bugs and earrings inspired by sunflowers and lobsters.

Nitya Arora launched Valliyan in 2008 after graduating from the Parsons School of Design in the US, according to the brand’s website. Valliyan is known for its fusion style, sculptural jewellery which mixes diverse inspirations including hip hop, nazar, and the beach.
