V2 Retail plans to open up to 40 new stores, embark on hiring drive

Fashion and lifestyle chain V2 Retail plans to launch between 35 and 40 new brick-and-mortar outlets in India up from its current total of around 96. The business also plans to add to its inventory to bring its value offering to more shoppers.

V2 Retail plans to invest between Rs 90 crore to 100 crore in its latest round of expansion, India Retailing reported. The business will focus on launching large scale stores measuring approximately four lakh square feet each to house its full product selection spanning clothing, accessories, footwear, and lifestyle goods among others.
 
The business also plans to hire more than 1,500 workers in roles including marketing, sales, customer service, and operations. Along with helping to facilitate the business’ ambitious expansion plans, the new hires will be taken on in line with the ‘Skill India’ initiative.
 
“Our vision aligns with the enthusiasm and dedication of our newest team members,” said V2 Retail’s director Akash Agarwal, India Retailing reported. “As we grow, their contributions will be instrumental.”
 
V2 Retail recently opened a new brick-and-mortar store in Mysore on the city’s Kantharaj Urs Road, the business announced on Facebook. The business also launched a new store in Chinsurah in West Bengal to bring over 5,000 styles to the city’s shoppers.
