Sustainable fashion brand Unirec has collaborated with Netflix to launch a licensed merchandise collection for new film ‘The Archies’. The men’s and women’s apparel collection is made from recycled plastic bottles or RPET fabric.
“We are extremely excited for the launch of our entire collection and hope that it is appreciated by everyone,” said Unirec’s CEO and founder Kapil Bhatia in a press release. “We hope that by offering this collection, a growing number of individuals including the youth will be aware of our brand and help us create a sustainable world for better living. One of the biggest reasons to tie up with Netflix for ‘The Archies’ was because it strongly resonated with the story of our brand, which also revolves around conservation of nature as all our garments are made from recycled plastic bottles.”
The licensed collection features graphic round-neck t-shirts and hoodies with retro inspired graphics relating to elements of The Archies. Sizes range from extra small to 3XL and the garments have been made from a blend of cotton and RPET fabric. Unirec has chosen fabrics for the collection which are suitable for the Indian climate and the brand will plant a tree for every garment sold as part of the line, according to its press release.
T-shirts in the collection retail from Rs 999 and hoodies from Rs 1,999. The Archies collection has launched on Unirec’s direct to customer e-commerce store and the brand plans to subsequently launch it across numerous multi-brand e-commerce marketplaces.
