Uniqlo celebrates five years in India, announces new stores for Mumbai, New Delhi

Japanese global apparel retailer Uniqlo is celebrating five years in India and has announced that it will launch two new stores this November. One will be located in Mumbai’s Phoenix Palladium Mall and one will open in New Delhi’s Pacific Mall Tagore Garden.

“Our five-year journey has been incredible and full of learnings,” said Uniqlo India’s chief financial officer and chief operating officer Kenji Inoue in a press release. “We are pleased to see that Indian customers have shown a deep appreciation for our LifeWear- high quality, functional clothing that is designed to make everyday life better. We remain committed to India and are excited to continue serving our customers. At this milestone, we are also looking forward, with the announcement of the further expansion of our store network in Mumbai and New Delhi.”
 
The Phoenix Palladium store in Mumbai will be the brand’s third in the metro and will feature a total sales floor space of 18,380 square feet, spread across two floors. The upcoming Pacific Mall Tagore Garden store in New Delhi will measure 12,930 square feet and will be the brand’s ninth store in Delhi NCR.
 
Both of the upcoming stores will retail Uniqlo’s ‘LifeWear’ collections for men, women, children, and babies. Uniqlo opened its first brick-and-mortar store in India in New Delhi in October 2019 and today counts 13 exclusive brand outlets in the country.
