Trent Ltd reported a 56 percent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 289 crore ($34.8 million) for the September quarter, as against Rs 186 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
The company’s revenue for the quarter rose by 59 percent to Rs 2,891 crore, as against Rs 1,841 crore in the year-ago quarter.
During the quarter, the company added 6 Westside and 27 Zudio stores across 19 cities.
Commenting on the results, Noel N Tata, chairman of Trent Limited in a statement said, “Our lifestyle offerings across concepts, categories and channels witnessed strong momentum in Q2FY24 despite challenging market conditions. We continue to see growing relevance for our offerings, resilience in our business model choices and attractiveness of our differentiated platform.”
“The company’s emerging categories including beauty and personal care, innerwear and footwear continued to gain traction with customers. Emerging categories now contribute to over 19 percent of our standalone revenues,” he added.
Trent Limited is part of the Tata Group and operates a portfolio of retail concepts. As of 30th September 2023, the company’s portfolio included 223 Westside, 411 Zudio and 27 stores across other lifestyle concepts.
