From partying after fights, to back home tucking the baby in for bedtime – Tommy Fury has revealed how his boxing career has changed since becoming a father.
Fury – a former Love Island contestant and the brother of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury – has already beaten YouTube star Jake Paul in a boxing fight.
His next target is YouTube star KSI, who he faces on 14 October in Manchester.
The 24-year-old has opened up about becoming a father and how the birth of his first child Bambi in January this year has changed his perception of what he can achieve in the sport of boxing.
He told Sky News: “Obviously, being a father is more important than any type of boxing.
“It really has changed me because after fights, I’ve gone from partying, having a few drinks with the boys, staying out till late, to going back home and tucking the baby in at bedtime.”
Fury admits life has been “very different” after fatherhood but says “everything’s changed for the better”.
Before the birth of his daughter – to his fiancee Molly-Mae Hague – Fury said he “couldn’t be bothered” to face a hard day in the gym and would instead post a picture on Instagram when he didn’t feel like training anymore.
“Now, I just think of her,” he said. “I think of her and I think, why am I boxing?
“It’s to make sure that she never struggles in life.
“I miss her very much,” added Fury, who’s been away from his family due to training for his next fight.
Talking about the fight ahead of him with KSI, Fury says he’s ready to end YouTube boxing and pursue his dreams of becoming world champion.
He said: “I’ve beat the best YouTube boxer out there, so this man [KSI] is going to be in serious trouble.
“I’m going to bully him around that ring, there’s no way he can escape. And I’m going to finish him whenever I want to finish him.
“But make no mistake, my goal is still to be a world champion, and I will always stay on that path.
“I said at the start of all this, I will end YouTube boxing. I’ll beat Jake Paul, I’ll beat KSI and any other one who wants it, and then after that I will go back to the proper boxing, and I’ll challenge myself against the best.”
A potential next opponent that interests Fury is YouTube star Logan Paul, who will be fighting at the same event on 14 October against mixed martial artist Dillon Danis.
Paul – who has recently made his mark in WWE – told Sky News: “I don’t want to be a professional boxer. I have so many interests and passions that I want to pursue. Boxing’s fun. I really like it, I like entertaining,” he explained. “This is an amazing opportunity to entertain a lot of people.
“This is one of the hardest jobs in the world. There are so many things that people just don’t understand and they can’t comprehend, beyond just the insane amount of hard work that people put in to just be a boxer.

“The mental pressure, the [trash]talking, the back and forth. You’ve got to have mental fortitude to do this sport.”
Similar to Fury, Paul has made it clear that he has ambitions of becoming a world champion – instead though, in WWE.
