“It is what the industry can shape into,” said Titan Company’s managing director C K Venkataraman on the sidelines of the recent trade show India International Jewellery Show, ET Online reported. “There is per capita income, an explosion in the top two/three income households within the pyramid- so there is opportunity to sell all kinds of jewellery.”

The autumn festive season is both a popular time for weddings and a traditional time of gifting which makes it the most important time of year for jewellers. “Early indicators are there of it being a rocking festive season this time- demand will be good,” said Venkataraman.

India International Jewellery Show Premiere was organised by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council and ran from August 3 to 7 at the Jio World Convention Centre and runs from August 4 to 8 at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, both in Mumbai. The trade show is taking place across two locations for the same time to enable more exhibitors to showcase their products with the aim of boosting Indian jewellery exports.
