Tata Group’s watch and jewellery business Titan Company announced that it plans to become a Rs one lakh crore business in the coming five years. In order to help it to achieve this milestone, the business plans to hire a diverse workforce of 3,000 new employees.
“We are embarking on an exciting journey towards becoming a Rs 100,000 crore [one lakh crore] business in the next five years,” said Titan Company’s head of HR- corporate and retail Priya Mathilakath Pillai, the Press Trust of India reported. “Our aggressive hiring strategy of adding 3,000 people in the next five years reflects our dedication to hire a diverse and talented workforce.”
The business plans to hire employees in sectors including digital, luxury, data analytics, engineering, design, and marketing and sales among others, ET Bureau reported. Titan Company also plans to bring in employees with specialised new age skills including cyber security and digital marketing among others.
“We believe that alongside growing our own people, it also helps to bring in experts from various fields, young and experienced,” said Mathilakath Pillai. “This will accelerate our growth and innovation, strengthening our position in the industry.”
Titan Company was launched as a joint venture between Tata Group and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation. The business specialises in watches and jewellery and also retails eyewear and fashion through brands including Tanishq, Taneira, Titan Eyeplus, and Zoya among others.
