Menswear brand Tasva’s former chief operating officer Dhruv Kaura has joined Reliance Industries Limited’s Reliance Retail. Kaura has stepped into the role of vice president of Reliance Retail’s footwear brand Trends Footwear and will help to lead its next round of expansion.
“He will be responsible for go-to-market strategy, footprint expansion, sustainably growing market share, driving demand and providing unmatched consumer experience,” an anonymous source close to the development told India Retailing. The source also mentioned that the business’ main focus for the near future is expanding into large cities and reinvigorating the business following a slow past year.
In his new role, Kaura is now based in Bengaluru and reports to Trends Footwear’s chief executive officer Nitesh Kumar. Kaura will manage Trends Footwear’s network of brick-and-mortar stores and shop in shops across India, which is one of the largest offline retail networks in the country’s footwear industry. Trends Footwear retails Reliance Retail’s private label footwear brands which include Cat Walk, Schumann, Cristofano, and Performax among others, according to its Facebook page.
Reliance Retail launched ‘Reliance Footprint’ as its private label footwear retail concept in 2007. Then, in 2017 the business was rebranded to Trends Footwear to fit with its wider strategy. The brand today counts over 700 points of sale in 355 Indian cities.
