Taneira’s Saree Run in Bengaluru drew a crowd of women of all ages to walk or run through the city in sarees as part of the brand’s promotion of fitness and its initiative to engage its customers and beyond, the brand announced on Facebook on August 29. The Saree Run aims to show the power of the six-yard garment to mobilise and empower.

“What an incredible day at the Saree Run, where thousands of spirited women championed fitness and celebrated the six yards in all its glory,” announced Taneira on Facebook. “From diverse backgrounds and ages, united by love for sarees and dedication to their fitness journey, they showcased remarkable strength… What warmed our hearts was the camaraderie that transcended boundaries. Some were jogging, sprinting, and walking but all of them moved together, hand-in-hand, helping each other cross the finish line. Beyond just a run, the day celebrated women who aren’t afraid of breaking stereotypes, shattering barriers, and supporting each other.”

The brand reported a turnout of 5,600 women at its recent Saree Run in Pune and a turnout of 4,300 at its event in Kolkata. The brand plans to continue with its Saree Run initiative to create a pan-India movement.
