“By the end of this fiscal, we plan to take the total store count to 80,” Taneira’s CEO Ambuj Narayan told ET Retail. “We will continue opening stores in metro and Tier 1 cities, but the focus will now shift to Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. And more than 80% of the stores that we are planning to open will be franchise-owned and franchise operated.”

Taneira recently opened its 50th India store to date in New Delhi. The brand’s flagship stores measure 4,000 square feet and above and are designed to offer an interactive shopping experience.

For its next round of store openings, Taneira will launch around 80% as franchise outlets. The business currently runs over 70% of its stores as franchise operations, ET Bureau reported.

The business plans to expand with an omni-channel approach and will also be working to bolster its online presence. “By the end of next fiscal, we are eyeing double-digit contribution from online sales,” said Narayan.

Taneira first launched in 2017 and specialises in sarees and traditional wear for women and girls. The business predicts a strong festive season this autumn with double digit growth.
