After having led the American footwear and clothing brand for two and a half years, Susie Mulder is stepping down from her position. Nina Flood, general manager for Europe (EMEA), will serve as the interim president.
The news of the departure of the executive, who took on her role in April 2021, was disclosed by the American media outlet Footwear News, gaining access to internal messages.
By entrusting the brand to Nina Flood on an interim basis, VF Corp’s leadership, led by Bracken Darrell since June, relies on an executive who is well-acquainted with the group. Flood joined the VF Group in 2003 as the marketing director for Nautica, which was then part of the group’s portfolio. In 2016, she was appointed president of the Kipling brand for the United States. Since then, she has led Kipling, Eastpak, and Jansport (the potential sale of the latter brand is reportedly under consideration according to American financial press).
Timberland is one of the flagship brands of the American group VF Corp, currently facing pressure due to challenging results after years of growth. Recently, another strong brand in the group, Vans, announced the departure of its CEO, Kevin Bailey.
In the first six months of its fiscal year, which ended in late September, Timberland saw its sales decline by 6% to $742.5 million.
