Eponymous designer Suneet Varma presented ethereal, glittering couture on the runway at DLF Emporio’s ‘Treasury of Trousseau’ fashion show in New Delhi with mirror encrusted lehengas, sheer tops, and dramatic, 3D flowers.
“Fashion, for me, has always been about storytelling- each piece is a narrative of our rich heritage, combined with the dreams and aspirations of the modern woman,” said Suneet Varma about the collection in a press release. “The Treasury of Trousseau is the perfect platform to bring these stories to life, celebrating not just fashion but the grandeur of Indian weddings.”
Suneet Varma showcased daring tops made just from embellishments such as mirror pieces, floral beadwork, and pearl like beads. These barely there tops were contrasted by full maxi skirts featuring intricate detailing and copious amounts of sparkle.
Varma first debuted the silvery collection on the runway at India Couture Week earlier in the year. Showcasing the collection at Treasury of Trousseau gave Varma the chance to bring eyes to his designs ahead of the busy festive and wedding season.
Treasury of Trousseau runs from September 4 to 7 at DLF’s premium mall DLF Emporio. The event also features fashion shows by Amit Aggarwal and Rahul Mishra among others.
