Beauty retailer Sugar Cosmetics’ parent company Vellvette Lifestyle Private Limited has partnered with Bollywood celebrity Kareena Kapoor Khan to establish a joint venture named Quench Botanics. The business will sell Koren beauty goods in the Indian market to tap into the growing demand for this product category.
“Kareena has partnered with us in a joint venture as an investor and co-owner,” said Sugar Cosmetics’ founder and chief executive Vineeta Singh, ET Bureau reported. “K [Korean] beauty has taken over global skincare; this is going to be a big opportunity in India as well.”
The business predicts that Quench Botanics will become a Rsn100 crore business in terms of net revenue in the coming 12 months. Korean beauty is especially popular with millennial and Gen Z consumers in India which, coupled with Khan’s pan-India popularity, makes the business confident it can attain swift growth.
“The beauty explosion is real and is here to stay,” Khan told the Economic Times. “From being a beauty market in its infancy, India is growing up in terms of awareness, eduction, and aspiration. It’s really an exciting time to offer beauty solutions created for diverse Indian skin concerns and climatic conditions.”
