Lab grown diamond jewellery brand Solitario opened its 15th India store to date in Phoenix Marketcity’s luxury arena Palladium in Chennai on April 28. The store’s inauguration ceremony featured Indian actor Priyamani and brand CEO Ricky Vasandani.
The new Solitario store is located on the lower ground floor of the mall and measures over 600 square feet, the brand announced in a press release on April 29. Designed to enable the brand to better connect with its South Indian customers, the new store retails a curated selection of contemporary style lab grown diamond jewellery.
“We are thrilled to unveil our first store in Chennai, a city renowned for its appreciation of luxury and style,” said Solitario Diamonds’ CEO Ricky Vasandani in a press release. “It is a big step for us, for this is our 15th India store, and we are committed to make this a great venture. We believe that our new store will play a key role in redefining the luxury jewellery experience for our customers, with the exquisite lab-grown diamonds, offering not only unparalleled beauty but also a sustainable alternative to traditional mining.”
Solitaires and other diamonds in the store are all certified by institutions including the IGI, SGL, and GIA. The brand also highlights the sustainable aspect of lab grown diamonds as, according to Solitario, growing a diamond in a lab emits six pounds of carbon compared to the average 125 pounds of carbon emitted in the mining process of a natural diamond.
