Footwear brand Skechers has opened a new store in New Delhi’s DLF Promenade Mall and celebrated the launch by holding a ‘Community Goal Challenge’ charity fundraiser with Bollywood celebrities Ananya Panday and Rohit Saraf.
“We wanted to build on the success of our first two philanthropic fitness competitions with this third edition of the Community Goal Challenge in Delhi- NCR to inspire the capital of India to embrace a healthier lifestyle while support[ing] a cause- and our participants exceeded our expectations,” said Skechers Asia Private Limited’s CEO Rahul Vira in a press release on June 29. “This event enabled us to create a meaningful impact within the country’s most fast-paced cities. We are proud of the difference we have made together.”
The event was held over three days and saw participants from across the region run on treadmills to reach a collective goal of running 1,000 kilometres. Celebrity guests Panday and Saraf were on hand to motivate participants and the initiative raised funds for children’s charity Krida Vikas Sanstha.
“The Skechers Community Goal Challenge in Delhi has been an incredible journey, and the determination and passion of the participants has been truly inspiring,” said brand ambassador Panday. “Together, we have shown that when we unite for a common cause, great feats can be achieved. It has been an honour to be part of this experience.”
“Taking part in the Skechers Community Goal Challenge in Delhi has been amazing- and seeing everyone’s enthusiasm has been so fun and inspiring,” said Saraf. “I am glad to have witnessed first-hand the collective effort towards promoting a healthier lifestyle and supporting a common cause.”
Skechers has over 400 stores across India and specialises in casual footwear. Skechers South Asia Private Limited is a subsidiary of Skechers USA which is based in California, US.
