Shree Ramkrishna Exports joins the World Diamond Council

Diamond manufacturing business Shree Ramkrishna Exports has joined the World Diamond Council. The Surat-based company has pledged its commitment to upholding the World Diamond Council’s ethical standards for the industry in addition to its own and will take part in the WDC’s initiatives.

“As a WDC member, SRK looks forward to actively participating in discussions and initiatives aimed at addressing industry challenges in the cohesive manner,” said Shree Ramkrishna Exports’ entrepreneur and brand custodian Shreyans Dholakia, the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council reported on its website. “Our extensive experience in the given area, positions us to make meaningful contributions to the WDC’s efforts to create a more transparent and ethical natural diamond industry.”
 
Shree Ramkrishna Exports noted the role that the WDC plays in upholding standards for sustainable and ethical natural diamond sourcing and diamond crafting. By becoming a member of the WDC, Shree Ramkrishna Exports plans to forge connections with other industry leaders, share best practices, and help to create up-to-date guidelines for the global diamond industry. The WDC has members from across the globe including jewellery manufacturers, banks, traders, logistics businesses, and producers among others, according to its website. 

Shree Ramkrishna Exports has already received global recognition for its sustainability-focused business practices. The business’ SRK Empire and SRK House facilities have received ‘LEED: Platinum’ certification for their eco-friendly credentials and the business aims to achieve net-zero carbon emissions at the two facilities by 2024.
