Design duo Shantanu Mehra and Nikhil Mehra presented ‘Etheria’ at India Couture Week on the evening of July 31 for their brand Shantnu & Nikhil. The brand’s men’s and womenswear collection gave a nod to the Gatsby Era with classic cocktail gowns while being inspired by travel across Italy.
On day seven of India Couture Week, Shantnu & Nikhil looked to the beauty of travel to create ensembles which mixed classic Indian craft techniques with vintage and Roman style details. Bridal looks were accessorised with beaded capes, which alluded to the 1920s, and menswear featured dramatic drapes and three-piece layered looks.
To close the show, actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Sara Ali Khan walked the runway as showstoppers in ornate ivory ensembles. The show’s jewellery partner was Dillano Luxurious Jewels which added yet more sparkle to the looks.
For the 16th edition of India Couture Week, the Fashion Design Council of India has brought together 16 designers to each showcase a collection in New Delhi with the main location being the Taj Palace. Sponsored by Hyundai, the fashion week runs from July 25 to August 2. The event runs in association with Reliance Brands Limited and participating designers include Ritu Kumar, Suneet Varma, Dolly J, Rahul Mishra, and Rimzim Dadu among others.
