Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has launched an exclusive collection titled ‘Cinématique: the red-carpet collection’ at the recently opened Los Angeles department store Saks Fifth Avenue, US. The Sabyasachi showcase began with a dinner party and runs until March 16.
“Sabyasachi Mukherjee is a visionary who has mesmerised the world with his unique and exquisite designs,” said Saks Fifth Avenue’s fashion director Roopal Patel, the brand shared in a Facebook post. “It is an honour to celebrate Indian craftsmanship, quality, and heritage in partnership with Sabyasachi.”
Saks Fifth Avenue held a dinner party to celebrate the launch of the collection which the eponymous designer himself attended along with celebrity guests including Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Kathy Hilton, and Roopal Patel. “Together we will create India’s first luxury super brand,” said Mukherjee at the soiree.
The Sabyasachi showcase at Saks Fifth Avenue in Los Angeles’ Beverly Hills features a mixture of couture, jewellery, ready-to-wear, and accessories. Designed to give Los Angeles’ residents a glimpse into Sabyasachi’s opulent world, the Cinématique showcase is accompanied by a selection of campaign images which style Sabyasachi’s designs on classic American beauties to signify the brand’s increasing focus on the US market.
Saks Fifth Avenue opened its luxury department store at the old Barney’s New York location on Wilshire Boulevard just a few weeks ago, LA Mag reported. Saks had previously run a shop in Los Angeles on the same street and moved into a new building to allow for significant renovations.
