On the evening of August 1, Roseroom by Isha J made its India Couture Week debut with ‘Romantic Reverie’. The whimsical, feminine womenswear collection saw Bollywood celebrity Vaani Kapoor walk the ramp as showstopper.
Isha J presented a flurry of intricate lace, structured bodices, and sheer overlays on day eight of India Couture Week. The collection took inspiration from French architecture and had a varied colour palette from white, ivory, and pastel hues, to vibrant red, emerald green, and black.
Transparent capes added drama to gowns and embellished blazers added a twist to occasion wear looks. Vaani Kapoor closed the show in a rich red lehenga which mixed subtle, sparkly texture with a dramatic, full skirt.
“Making a debut at India Couture Week is an exhilarating and momentous experience for any designer as it is one of the most prestigious platforms in the Indian fashion industry,” designer Isha J told News18. “At the same time, as a designer, I felt immense pride in having the chance to showcase my artistic vision and unique style on such a grand stage.”
The 16th edition of the Fashion Design Council of India’s India Couture Week is sponsored by Hyundai and runs from July 25 to August 2. Running in association with Reliance Brands Limited, the fashion week takes place across locations in New Delhi including the Taj Palace. Featured designers this season include Falguni Shane Peacock, Ritu Kumar, Dolly J, Rimzim Dadu, and Gaurav Gupta among others.
