Ridhi Mehra launches saree capsule collection, debuts corset belts

Eponymous designer Ridhi Mehra has launched a new capsule collection of sarees named ‘Ever After’ following a discussion with her niece. The womenswear collection features Mehra’s first ever addition of a corset belt to transform traditional ensembles and foray into fusion wear. 

“With Ever After, I wanted to redefine the way we experience sarees- making them effortless, contemporary, and truly versatile,” said designer Ridhi Mehra about her collection in a press release. “The addition of corset belts and jackets brings a bold new dimension to traditional draping, allowing women to embrace heritage with a modern, fashion-forward edge.” 

The collection features textiles including jacquard, tissue, and georgette, rendered in a feminine and delicate colour palette of ivory, gold, lilac, powder pink, red, purple, and fuchsia. Mehra’s take on the saree in ‘Ever After’ is designed to be lightweight, wearable, and appeal to an audience modern women looking to mix heritage styles with a global outlook. 

For the capsule line, Mehra highlighted zari and cotton dori work along with Marodi embroidery and resham thread work to create intricate yet subtle details.
