Men’s formal wear brand Reid & Taylor has opened its second brick-and-mortar store in Mumbai this month. Located on Ghatkopar’s Vallabagh Lane, the store retails both western and fusion style premium suits.
“Today we opened our second store at Vallabagh Lane, Ghatkopar, Mumbai,” announced Reid & Taylor’s CEO of apparel and retail Subrata Siddhanta on Linkedin. “Mr JD Barman, Director, Textiles Commitee, Ministry of Textiles graced the occasion. The journey of Reid & Taylor Apparel continues.”
Earlier in April, the brand launched a store in Mumbai’s Borivali neighbourhood, Siddhanta announced on Linkedin at the time. The executive also mentioned that Reid & Taylor is on track to open seven stores in the metro meaning that five more openings are on the horizon.
The Reid & Taylor brand is owned by Krihaan Tex Chem Private Limited and specialises in textile and garment manufacturing for the Indian market. Originally established by Scottish entrepreneur Alexander Reid in the 1830s, Joseph Taylor financed the venture to create the Reid & Taylor name. The brand launched in India with a mill in Karnataka and its operations in the country are based in Mumbai, according to its Facebook page.
