Rajesh Exports Ltd reported a 14 percent rise in net profit to Rs 309 crore ($37 million) for the first quarter ended June 30, as against Rs 271 crore in the year-ago period.

The company’s total income for the quarter rose by 73 percent to Rs 85,700 crore, as against Rs 49,498 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Commenting on the results, Rajesh Mehta, chairman of Rajesh Exports Ltd in a statement said, “I am pleased to announce the financial figures for the first quarter of the year. The company is working as per it’s plans, and I am confident that the company should be able to achieve the expected growth in the coming quarters.”

Rajesh Exports is a gold retailer in India that refines, designs, and sells gold and diamond jewellery. The company has 82 retail jewellery showrooms under the name Shubh Jewellers and supplies jewellery to some 5,000 retail showrooms across the globe.
