Mishra’s collection followed on from his recent Paris Haute Couture Week ‘We The People’ show with added bridal options and menswear. Gold sequin work made for a regal colour palette when paired with burgundy and champagne and notable looks included a tactile jumpsuit and capes and capelets of varying lengths. The jewellery partner for the show was Raniwala 1881 which provided some traditional style sparkle and makeup was kept simple and glamorous.

Shraddah Kapoor closed the show in a silvery lehenga which paired a bralet style blouse with a glistening capelet and a full skirt featuring floral motifs. The showstopper’s hair was worn in a vintage style waved bob and Kapoor was joined by Rahul and Divya Mishra on the runway.

“Rahul Mishra showcased his breathtaking collection, ‘We, The People’ at the Hyundai Closing Show,” sponsor Hyundai announced on Facebook. “The Hyundai IONIQ 5 brought a glamorous touch to the Hyundai India Couture Week 2023 while actress Shraddha Kapoor graced the ramp, bringing the spirit of Indian craftsmanship to life.”

For its 16th season, India Couture Week took place across multiple locations in New Delhi including the Taj Palace. The Fashion Design Council of India’s event ran from July 25 to August 2 and the fashion shows were also streamed online to enable the public to watch, following on from a trend which took off during the pandemic.

The title sponsor for India Couture Week was Hyundai and the event ran in partnership with Reliance Brands. The 16 designers and brands chosen to participate in the fashion week included Rimzim Dadu, Gaurav Gupta, Dolly J, Falguni Shane Peacock, and Ritu Kumar among others.
