A graduate from Rhode Island School of Design in 2001, German-born Robert Geller began his career in fashion at Marc Jacobs and Cloak, a menswear collection that would go on to win the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award in 2003, and a CFDA/Vogue prize in 2004.

Geller then launched his eponymous collection in 2007. He received the GQ Best New Menswear Designer Award in 2009 and was a finalist for the 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. In 2011, Robert Geller won the Swarovski Award for Best Emerging Menswear Designer at the CFDA Fashion Awards,
before launching a denim collection in 2015.

Two years later, he was nominated for CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year Award.

“I am pleased to announce Robert Geller as Rag & Bone’s new head of menswear design. Robert has been working with the team since September 2023 and his creative vision will undoubtedly lead Rag & Bone towards a new and very exciting chapter,”  said Andrew Rosen, chairman of the board, Rag & Bone.

“I came to know Robert in 2010 when he was a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and followed his career ever since. Rag & Bone has long been recognized for innovation and leadership in American menswear, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern cultural references. The brand’s authentic style has contributed to its preeminence in the American fashion scene, and I believe Roberts’s appointment gives us the opportunity to take the brand to the next level.”

Geller succeeds Rag & Bone senior vice president of men’s design and merchandising, Kyle Sweeney, who was appointed in the interim to oversee the men’s design team, after the brand’s co-founder and chief brand officer, Marcus Wainwright, stepped down in July.

Chief merchandising and design officer Jennie McCormick, continues to oversee the women’s, footwear and accessories design teams.

“From its inception, I have been a fan of Rag & Bone and its menswear which is rooted in quality and authenticity. I also believe that our customer wants to look his best without having to compromise on comfort,” said Geller.

“My objective with the collections is to introduce a renewed sense of ease, and to evolve the beloved core pieces by incorporating refined and innovative fabrics into well-made clothes that will enable men to move through life confidently, matching the grit and edge of the New York City spirit.

“For Fall 2024, we have put our focus on the fit and overall silhouette. We have integrated the ready to wear collection with our Pursuit sportswear, while bringing a more fashionable side to the denim in a way that satisfies all of men’s wardrobing needs, celebrating comfort.”

Since its inception in 2002, Rag & Bone is an American men’s and women’s fashion brand that blends heritage and modern details, with a strong expertise in denim.

The brand has recently opened four new stores in Miami, Scottsdale, Charlotte, and Nashville, and currently operates 36 directly operated stores in the U.S. and the UK. Rag & Bone is also available in boutiques and department stores in over 53 countries.
