Puneet Gupta expands fashion offering with exclusive handbag line

Luxury wedding invitations and gifts boutique Puneet Gupta has launched an exclusive handbag line titled ‘Whispers of Versailles.’ The collection features handmade, sculptural handbags in whimsical designs and bolsters the brand’s fashion offering. 

“Each bag in this collection is not just a fashion accessory but a whimsical embodiment of dreams and fantasies,” said brand founder Puneet Gupta in a press release. “Let your style reflect the magic of French bakeries and fairylands with our uniquely shaped bags, where every carryall is a story waiting to be told.” 

The ‘Whispers of Versailles’ line is inspired by Parisian aesthetics and each handbag took between 150 and 200 man-hours to complete. Featuring intricate beadwork, handbags in the collection blend the boundaries between fashion and sculpture. 

The handbags’ bases are made from wood and silk to give a firm structure. Inspired by the historic Palace of Versailles in France, the bags’ pastel colour palette brings to mind the Rococo period of French history. 

“Designed for those who dare to stand out, these pieces are the perfect accessory for galas, soirées, or moments where luxury speaks louder than words,” announced the label. “Intricate patterns and designs that come to life through the meticulous placement of beads, capturing the essence of French pastry artistry and the magical allure of fairy tales.”

Puneet Gupta retails from its direct to customer e-commerce store, which has segments for wedding invitations and for products such as handbags, accessories, and home decor among others. Eponymous designer Puneet Gupta has launched a flagship store for his label in New Delhi and participated in India Couture Week and the Vogue Wedding Show.
