Garment care business Pressto plans to open 20 new stores in India by the 2026 financial year in addition to its current total of 50 outlets. The business plans to continue to tap into the increasing demand for convenience in garment maintenance.
Pressto reported 11% year on year growth in its services in the Indian market along with a 9% same store sales growth rate in the country, the business announced in a press release. Pressto has also reported a 20% year on year increase in its customer base in India and plans to continue to expand its foothold in the market.
The business has served over three lakh customers thus far in the Indian market and serviced more than 10 million garments. The business has also partnered with international fashion brands including Gucci, Ferragamo, Hermes, YSL, Zegna, and Balenciaga for garment aftercare services and its specialist care for investment garments such as silk and cashmere pieces and tailored suits has afforded its customers a cost-saving of around 200% or more, according to Pressto.
Following the pandemic, Pressto has reported a shift in consumer preferences from fast fashion towards premium garments, which often require more specialist cleaning services in order to maintain their lifespan. The increasing interest in sustainability and Gen Z’s willingness to spend more on clothing has also contributed to Pressto’s growth in India, according to the business. The global business counts over 300 stores across world, according to its Facebook page.
“Pressto offers premium garment care services for not just garments but shoes, bags and accessories,” announced the business. “With 50 stores in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, Pressto India is offering a tailored approach to meet the unique needs of Indian consumers and is a leader in the premium garment care segment.”
